KARACHI: Lauding the efforts of Sindh Rangers in bringing peace in the province particularly in Karachi, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan emphasized that politics should be kept apart for building peace in the city, ARY News reported.

He was addressing the 24th passing out parade ceremony of Pakistan Rangers Sindh in Karachi on Saturday morning as the chief guest on this occasion.

“Rangers have played a historic role in bringing peace in Karachi and other parts of the country”, the interior minister said.

Paying tribute to martyrs of Rangers, he said that 33 officials of Sindh Rangers have scarified their lives and hundreds got injuries to safeguard the homeland from terrorists, extortionists and criminals.

Associating peace in Karachi with peace in the country, Nisar said that previously the entire city was shut down on one call disrupting economic activities and routine affairs but the situation has changed now by efforts of the law enforcement agencies particularly Sindh Rangers.

“The entire city was hijacked by one person and on his one call the entire city was closed, disrupting the routine life”, he said.

He lamented on provincial government’s policies causing hurdles for Rangers by underlining that there should not be politics on restoration of peace.

He said that the matter of extension in powers of Rangers in Sindh should not be politicized and extension should be made after every three months without hurdle for their smooth functioning.

Concerning over anti-state elements, Nisar said that the masses must remain aware of their nefarious designs. “Rangers have effectively addressed the external threats of the enemies and enemies disguised as friends”, he added.

In the 24th batch 782 cadets have passed out after completing their training course at Sachal Rangers Training Centre in Karachi.
