In a statement released from MQM’s London secretariat, Nusrat also dared the Farooq Sattar-led party lawmakers to resign from their respective positions in assemblies and re-contest the elections.

“MQM was one and will remain one, all conspiracies to finish it will fail,” said Nusrat, who was removed from RC along with Wasay Jalil, Mustafa Azizabadi and Ali Raza by MQM-Pakistan.

The London-based party stalwart also urged the party workers “loyal with Altaf Hussain” to dissociate themselves from Farooq Sattar led party leaders if they don’t resign from assemblies. He lamented that after August 22, Altaf Hussain himself gave up all authority to Pakistan-based Rabita Committee but the Pakistan chapter’s decisions, including removal of Altaf Hussain’s guidance role from the party constitution and now the resolution calling for treason case against party founder, made it clear that their efforts to save MQM are not in favour of party men and “Mohajir nation”.

He announced that, after the above mentioned decisions, the “loyal” members of party’s London Rabita Committee decided to dissolve party’s Rabita Committee,  organisational structure and other departments.

“Altaf Hussain has approved all these decisions and has granted authority to Nadeem Nusrat for appointing and choosing members for new Rabita Committee and organisational structure,” says the statement released from party’s London secretariat.

MQM Pakistan’s response

MQM Pakistan leader Farooq Sattar, after Nusrat’s statement, repeated that the party’s Pakistan chapter after August 22 and said now any statement from London has no effect over the party in Pakistan.

“We stand firm on the decisions taken on August 23 and will continue to work with dedication on the policy. All the departments will follow our policy,” said Farooq Sattar.
