The two groups of prisoners engaged in a fight when they were imprisoned at a court lockup, officials said.
The suspects used sharp weapons against each other due to which an inmate named Irfan alias Gosha, a suspect in a robbery case, was severely injured.
The wounded person was shifted to Civil Hospital for treatment.
Investigation of the incident was launched by the police.
