Opposition plans ‘All Party Conference’ on Oct 31

ISLAMABAD: The opposition parties have decided to convene ‘All Parties Conference (APC)’ on October 31 aiming to take a united stand against the government, ARY News reported.

“JUI-F Chief, Molana Fazlur Rehman has informed former president and Co Chairman PPP, Asif Ali Zardari about APC’s expected date”, sources informed.

In order to build consensus against the government, Mr Fazlur Rehman has started contacting opposition parties to decide final date of the ‘APC’.

It was learnt that arrangements of the APC will be done my JUI-F Chief himself. Yesterday (Oct 22), co-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Asif Ali Zardari, met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to devise a strategy to challenge the government.

The former president had expedited his political activities after lashing at the government for its incompetence and inability to govern the country. He had also called on opposition parties to table a resolution against the government.

Zardari reportedly discussed a range a issues with Maulana Rehman at the latter’s residence particularly the political situation and efforts to make the opposition more active.

Well-informed sources revealed that they also discussed to bring a resolution against the government in the parliament.

Addressing media after the meeting, MR Zardari said that he struggled for the sake of democracy since the last decade, but unfortunately democratic forces appear  to be weakening in the country.

Former President, hinted that the PPP does not necessary intend to bring down the incumbent government, but its way of governance was rather undemocratic. He reiterated that the current administration was incompetent on running the country’s affairs.
