PAC seeks details of delayed projects since past 8 years

ISLAMABAD: Secretary Finance and Chairman of Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) have stated that FBR did not issue any news about tax-evasion by politicians, while the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has sought the details of all the pending cases since past 8 years from the Planning Commission – ARY News reports.

According to details, the PAC meeting was held here on Wednesday, which was chaired by the Chairman Syed Khursheed Shah.

During the meet, the committee analyzed financial affairs of the Establishment Division and all the institutions under it. The Chairman PAC directed the Planning Commission to present a detailed report of all the delayed projects and also to inform the committee about the increase in the overall cost of construction of Benazir International Airport due to the delay.

The PAC while examining financial irregularities in the Administrative Staff College, directed the Secretary Establishment to insure punishment of the ones responsible and remarked that this institution seems to be out of control.

At this, the Secretary Establishment told that he had summoned the head of the institution, yet he failed to appear.

He added that the Rector of the Staff College is also Principal Accounting Officer and the committee should also ask for an explanation from him.
