The match, held at the National Bank Cricket Stadium, witnessed New Zealand captain Tom Latham’s decision to bowl first after winning the toss. However, Pakistan showcased their batting prowess and amassed a formidable total, largely attributed to the outstanding century by their captain, Babar Azam.

Babar’s innings was truly spectacular, as he unleashed an array of strokes, accumulating 10 boundaries en route to his impressive score of 107 off 117 balls.

Notably, Salman Ali Agha also made a valuable contribution to the home team’s total by scoring his second half-century in the format, a brisk 58 runs off just 46 deliveries, including four boundaries and two sixes.

Despite a commendable half-century by their skipper, Latham, New Zealand found themselves unable to chase down the target set by Pakistan. As a result, they suffered their fourth consecutive defeat in the ongoing five-match series.

Latham emerged as the leading scorer for the visiting team, with a well-fought 60 off 76 balls, featuring five boundaries. However, it was not enough to avert their defeat against the dominant Pakistani side.

With this impressive victory, Pakistan now stands atop the ICC ODI Team Rankings, showcasing their prowess and solidifying their position as a formidable force in the world of cricket.
