Pakistan Army cadet receives prestigious medal at UK Military Academy

LONDON: Pakistan Army cadet Sheroz Shahid has secured the prestigious international medal at Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) UK.

“The award is given for high performance in education, training and physical fitness fields displayed during the training period,” said military’s public affairs wing Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.

According to the statement, “The medal was awarded by Gen Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter, Chief of General Staff of British Army who was the reviewing officer of the Parade”.

Previously Major Uqbah of Pakistan Army made headlines when he was honored with the military award. The English Cadets sang the national anthem of Pakistan in his honor on the farewell dinner night at Old College.

This time as well Pakistan’s national anthem was played and a loyal toast to the president of Pakistan was given along with the Queen’s loyal toast.

The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, commonly known simply as Sandhurst is a distinguished military academy of the United Kingdom and has been the British Army’s initial officer training centre.
