The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif also visited the exercise area near Kharian-Gujranwala and witnessed Pakistan forces engaged in the ongoing ‘Army Field Exercise’, said the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press statement released on Monday.

The COAS was given a detailed briefing regarding the main objectives of the military exercises from a newly inducted and hi-tech net enabled virtual war room.

Army field exercises were being conducted in the central and southern command to check the operational preparedness of the Pakistani forces.

Infantry and mechanised columns of the central command with their requisite supporting troops and the Punjab Rangers carried out the exercises.

The COAS also lauded the superior standard of military training, professional skills and high morale of the participating Pakistani troops.
