ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to reinstate the ban on Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) and its charity wing Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF) as the nation’s civil and military leadership resolved to take strict action against subversive elements on Thursday, ARY News reported.
A Ministry of Interior spokesperson confirmed to ARY News that the NSC had decided to speed up actions against all proscribed organisations without any discrimination and the latest move is the part of that.
The National Security Committee (NSC) that met today at the Prime Minister House decided to enforce the National Action Plan against terrorism in its letter and spirit.
It was learnt that the provincial government have been ordered to implement the ban as per the latest directives.

A presidential ordinance passed last year had amended the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA 1997) to declare proscribed all those individuals and organisations proscribed by the UN Security Council.
The ordinance had axed the two organisations, and their assets were frozen whereas the government had also taken over their offices and health facilities.
However, after the expiry of the ordinance, the two organisations had no longer been on the ban list, though they remained on Ministry of Interior’s watch list.
