KARACHI: The trade activities between Pakistan and Brazil had picked up speed, but somewhat few vital steps are still required in order to further strengthen the relationship between the two countries, in particular, the business sector of Karachi and Brazil, stated the Honarary Consul of Brazil Omer Jaffer.
According to the sources, it is revealed on Wednesday, during a meeting of Omer Jaffar in his visit to Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), the Brazilian diplomat appealed Karachi Chamber to support for augmentation of investment from both sides.
Mr. Omer stated, that Brazil being the 8th largest economy in the world and the largest in Latin America with GDP of almost US $3 trillion, proposes number of things to Pakistan.
He also added, that Brazil was all set to assist and help out the Pakistani business sector, but the trade quantity was mainly in favor of Brazil. Therefore, the business sector of Karachi would had to take attention in the Brazilian market and discover opportunities for augmentation of bilateral trade.
While broadening all the assistance & collaboration to KCCI members involved in discovering the Brazilian market, the diplomat said that complete briefing of all the events that are taking place in Brazil would be shared with KCCI with an observation so as to boost utmost participation of the business community of Karachi in the ongoing and the upcoming events.
Furthermore, he also settled to a proposal that facilities related to traveling will not only be provided to the business segment, but also to the Pakistani tourists as Brazil presents numerous tourism prospects.
The meeting includes the important members of KCCI, such as Acting President KCCI Khurram Shahzad, Vice President KCCI Asif Sheikh Javaid, Chairman KCCI Diplomatic Missions, Embassies Liaison Sub-Committee Shamoon Zaki & KCCI managing Committee members.
