Pakistan cricket team departs for New Zealand tour

DUBAI: Pakistan cricket team left for its tour of New Zealand from Dubai International Airport on Friday, RY News reported.
Pakistan cricket team, led by Captain Misbah-ul-Haq, will play two test matches in short test series against New Zealand.
The first test will be played on 17th November at Christchurch whereas the second and final match of the series will be contested at Hamilton from 25th November.
The side will have to win the series if they have to retain their position in the ICC test rankings. Pakistan presently stands second in the rankings after India.
The side will also play a three-day tour game against New Zealand-A at Nelson before the test series kicks off.
The selectors have included opening batsman Sharjeel Khan and wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan in the test series.
The PCB has appointed former all rounder Azhar Mehmood as the team’s bowling coach.
This will be the first test series between Pakistan and New Zealand since 2014.
Pakistan team has been in high spirits after clean sweeping West Indies in the three-match Twenty20 and ODI series and beating the visitors by 2-1 in recently concluded test series in UAE.
Pakistan (squad): Misbah-ul-Haq (captain), Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Babar Azam, Imran Khan, Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Rahat Ali, Sami Aslam, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicket keeper), Sharjeel Khan, Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, Yasir Shah and Younis Khan.
