ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said Pakistan was keen to further strengthen economic cooperation with Turkey.
“Relations between the two countries are based on shared history, common values and mutual interests,” he said while talking to Turkish Ambassador S Babur Girgin in Islamabad.
He noted with satisfaction that the bilateral relations have further deepened as well as broadened during the last four years.
The ambassador delivered a letter of felicitation from Turkish president to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on assumption of office of the prime minister.
Earlier, talking to a delegation of the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) Members of National Assembly from Multan Division in Islamabad, the prime minister reiterated that the government would extend its all out support to fast track development projects in South Punjab.

He urged the MNAs to work with full dedication and commitment for bringing about tangible positive change in people’s lives.
Talking to a delegation of MPAs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa headed by Sardar Aurangzeb Nalotha, Shahid Abbasi said the ruling government firmly believed in socio-economic uplift of the people regardless of any political consideration.
He said the federal government had always supported democratic principles with an aim to bring about qualitative change in the lives of the people of the country.
The PM assured the delegation that the federal government would extend every possible support to address their issues.
Deputy Speaker NA Murtaza Javed Abbasi, Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Khan, Advisor Engineer Ameer Muqam and Minister for Narcotics Lt General (Retd) Salah-ud-din Tirmizi were also present during the meeting.
Talking to a delegation of Christian Community led by Parliamentary Secretary on Religious Affairs Khalil George in Islamabad today, Prime Minister said that protection of minorities and affording them opportunities to excel in every field is priority of the government.
The premier said the government would continue making every possible effort towards addressing the issues faced by the minority communities.
