Pakistan lodges protest with UNMOGIP over ceasefire violations by Indian forces

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Wednesday lodged a protest with the United Nations observer mission over unprovoked ceasefire violation and targeting of civilian population by Indian forces along the Line of Control.

According to Inter Services Public Relations, the United Nations military observers at UNMOGIP were invited to General Headquarters to register a protest over unprovoked ceasefire violations and targeting of civilian population by Indian Army on 10, 13 and 16 May, 2017.

The Indian army used small arms, automatic and heavy caliber weapons, heavy mortar (122 mm Mortars) and field artillery in Sabzkot, Baroh, Tandar, Khuiratta, Kot Koterra and Karela sectors along the LoC.

They also targeted Pakistani villages resulting in the killing of one civilian and injuring fifteen others including women and children. The UN military observers were also apprised about the latest situation along LoC.
