LONDON: Britain’s opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn has said that Pakistan needs to treated respectfully and other countries should refrain criticising it.

In an interview with BBC Urdu, the Labour Party chief was asked if he agrees with the recent statement by US President Donald Trump that Pakistan provides safe haven to terror groups.

Jeremy  replied “Pakistan is a country which needs to treated with respect, and there should be no outside criticism.”

Replying to another question if Pakistan can play required role against terrorism, Corbyn said that all nations should make full efforts against the elimination of terrorism, and this is the collective responsibility of all countries.

Mr. Corbyn said the new policy of President Trump to send additional troops to Afghanistan is a continuation of its failed policies. “I will not endorse the decision, the solution to Afghanistan is political dialogue,” he said.
