SINGAPORE: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Zubair Mehmood Hayat Saturday said that Pakistan has played a significant role in uprooting terrorism and extremism.
While speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue here, Gen. Zubair underscored Pakistan’s contribution towards defeating hostile forces to forge a path to sustainable peace and stability in the region.
Highlighting the country’s ritual of extending a helping hand to countries hit by natural calamities, he said Pakistan Naval Ship Zulifqar was sent to Sri Lanka to rescue stranded people and provide food, medical and other assistance to flood victims in the country.
“We have to make collective efforts to combat terrorism,” Gen Zubair emphasized while calling upon the major world powers to help overcome the crises affecting countries across the globe.
Commenting on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) he said the project will play vital role in putting an end to regional conflicts.
