Pakistan Railways takes crucial steps to resolve passengers’ complaints

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Railways has taken crucial measures to resolve complaints of train passengers, ARY News reported on Monday.

Pakistan Railways has announced that a train manager will travel along every train in the country. The train manager will be responsible for resolving issues facing the passengers.

“The manager will look after complaints regarding water, electricity and food,” Pakistan Railways said.

Passengers can now register their complaint at 0330-5555556 through WhatsApp SMS, between 9:00 and 5:00 during the day.

They can also call at 051-9221949 or fax at 051-9204793 in case of any complaint.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday chaired a briefing on the up-gradation of Railway’s Main Line-1 (ML-1).

The prime minister was briefed on the progress of ML-1 project.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusru Bakhtiar, the secretary railways, the director general FWO and senior officials.

On April 6, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed had said that all possible measures were afoot for the development of Pakistan Railways (PR).

Addressing a press conference here at the Railways Headquarters in Lahore, Sheikh Rasheed had said that air-conditioned coaches would be fitted with the Rehman Baba Express next month.

He had said that the Sir Syed Express would be launched by the 30th of June this year and apologized the nation for late arrival of trains.
