Shahryar Khan, speaking on Wednesday, said that the cricketing board is awaiting the federal government’s green signal for sending players to India.
He added that the team will go to India provided if the country provides full security to the green shirts for the tournament.
It should be noted that International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday announced that the Pak-India World Twenty20 tie, scheduled to take place in Dharamsala, will be contested at Kolkata.
It should be noted that the fate of the heavily anticipated World Twenty20 match fell uncertain after the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Virbhadra Singh had refused to host Pakistan for the mega event.
He had demanded BCCI to cancel or shift the match to another venue.
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena had threatened to dug out the match pitch while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had stated that they will not allow the match to be staged in any part of the country.
