Pakistan should start preparing for World Cup 2015: Wasim Akram

KARACHI: Former Pakistani fast bowler Wasim Akram has said that Pakistan needs to start its preparations soon for the World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand, ARY News reports.

"World Cup in New Zealand and Australia will be different and tough and the team needs to start preparing for it", Akram said.

Wasim Akram further said that the 1992 side, which won the World Cup, had toured the country down under several weeks ago which helped the players understand the conditions better.

He suggested that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should set a boot camp for the players in mountainous areas like the Australians do before an Ashes Series.

He further added that the services of renowned South African fielder Jonty Rhodes should be availed as he is ready to come to Pakistan. "PCB can improve the players' fielding through Jonty Rhodes", he  said.

The former left arm pacer also said that Moin Khan is the suitable candidate for the position for the head coach but the board should select someone for the position soon.
