ISLAMABAD: Advisor to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz says Pakistan is pursuing vision of peaceful relations with all its neighbours.
Talking to media in Islamabad, he however said that violation of the country’s frontiers will not be tolerated and a befitting response will be given in case of any violation.
The adviser called for addressing all kind of reservations between Pakistan and Afghanistan through bilateral dialogue.
Earlier, speaking at a reception to mark 25th anniversary of Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan diplomatic relations, the Advisor said Pakistan provides conducive environment for investment and foreign investors must grab this golden opportunity.
He stressed the need for promoting bilateral trade between the two countries.
On May 7, Inspector General Frontier Constabulary Major Gen. Nadeem Afzal, at a presser, said that Afghan forces opened unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on the Chaman border on May 5 and attempted to occupy civilian houses, but Pakistan army’s retaliation pushed them back.
Briefing media over the incident, Afzal said that Pakistan Army gave a befitting reply and delivered heavy losses to Afghan forces.
Pakistan Army and FC launched a counter operation at the border area and vacated the area completely on May 5 destroying five Afghan border check posts. More than 50 Afghan soldiers were killed and more than 100 were injured in the operation.
