Pakistani film director Parvez Rana passes away

LAHORE: Prominent film director Parvez Rana passed away at a hospital in Lahore on Tuesday night, ARY News reported.

According to family sources, Rana was suffering from heart problem for the past four years. He suffered a cardiac attack last night and was rushed to a local hospital but could not survive.

His funeral prayers will be held at Bahria Town at 02.00 pm on Wednesday.

Parvez Rana stepped foot into direction by directing his first film titled “Chiragh Bahadur” in 1976.  He went on to direct 46 Punjabi and six Urdu films in his directorial career.

He also produced a film titled ‘Mafia’ in 1997.

Rana’s famous films included Suhaagan, Naseebo, Toofan, Kaala Shah Poorya, Ghunda Tax, Shagnaan Di Mehendi, Sharaabi, Naagan, Wehshi Gujjar and Godfather.

The director worked with nearly all of the stars in the Pakistani film industry and also introduced several new male and female actors in the showbiz world.
