Pakistani mission establishes first tourist, business visa facilitation centre in Lisbon


LISBON: Embassy of Pakistan Lisbon, has established a tourist, business visa facilitation center within the embassy’s premises, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Veteran Journalist Azfar Bukhari inaugurated the facilitation center which will be Pakistan’s first in the Portuguese capital.

Acting ambassador Fayyaz Ahmed Khan, on this occasion, said that establishment of visa facilitation center is in line with the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan who wishes to promote tourism and Pakistani culture.

He announced that the facility will allow tourist and business visa applications to be dealt expeditiously and the mission will also assist applicants with the opportunities of investments and tourism in Pakistan.

Azfar Bukhari, who is these days visiting different European countries along with ARY News team to promote the PM-CJ fund for Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand dams, laid stress upon the need for urgent action to avert the looming water crisis in Pakistan.

Later in the day, Fayyaz Khan and Azfar Bukhari also gave lectures on Pakistani culture and tourism to the students of Asian Studies in University of Lisbon.

The university administration formally appreciated their visit and termed the efforts of Mr. Bukhari as a perfect example of ‘journalist diplomacy’.

Apart from journalism, Bukhari is famous for his strong socio-political ties not only in Pakistan but in other countries of the Middle East and Europe as well.

In the year 2011, Sindh Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution to honor his services rendered for the country.
