According to details, scores of PTI workers took to the streets in London to stage a protest outside Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Park Lane residence. PTI activists chanted slogans against the Prime Minister and also held banners which contained written messages, urging Nawaz to resign in light of the Panama Leaks scandal.

Addressing the protesters, PTI leaders stated that PM Nawaz had no moral authority to govern after the names of his immediate family members surfaced in the Panama Papers. They called for Nawaz to step down from the post of Prime Minister and hold himself accountable.

Earlier today, PTI chief Imran Khan had ‘addressed the nation’ from his Bani Gala residence in Islamabad and called on Nawaz to hand in his resignation. Imran had also cited the example of Iceland where the Prime Minister handed in his resignation owing to immense public pressure.

The Panama Papers controversy has put the government and Nawaz Sharif on the back foot, after leaked documents from a Panamanian firm revealed the PM’s three children Maryam, Hussain and Hasan Nawaz were owners of offshore companies.
