LAHORE: In a major development, Qaiser Amin Butt, a director of the Paragon City (Pvt) Limited, has become an approver against PML-N stalwart Khawaja Saad Rafique in the Paragon City scandal, ARY News reported.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman approved a request by Qaiser Amin Butt to become an approver in the case after which his confessional statement was recorded under section 164 Cr.P.C.
The Paragon City director, who is also considered to be a close friend of the PML-N leader, recorded his confession before the NAB chief.
Sources said he spilled the beans during his statement, pointing to several other big names’ involvement in the scandal.
Earlier this month, the anti-graft watchdog arrested Qaiser Amin Butt from Khairpur where he is said to have gone to evade his arrest following the Bureau’s probe into the housing society scandal.
NAB had launched an investigation into the scandal after protests by dozens of victims against the housing society fraud.
Last month, Khawaja Saad Rafique appeared before a NAB team to answer its queries over his alleged involvement in the Paragon Housing Society corruption scandal.
