LAHORE: The Punjab Bar Council (PBC) on Saturday suspended practicing licenses of four lawyers of a family, including father and his three sons, over torturing and shooting at Advocate Muhammad Hussain.
According to a notification issued by the PBC, lawyers Liaquat Javeed and his three sons were barred from practice over torturing and firing at a lawyer, Muhammad Hussain.
PBC’s executive committee would take up the issue on April-3, said sources.
It pertinent to mention here that Liaquat Javeed along with his three on April 3 had subjected Muhammad Hussain to torture and opened fire at him over a conflict.
A case under the clause of Anti-terrorism Act had been registered against the suspects at Kotwali Road Police Station in Faisalabad.

Last year, on February 20, at least two lawyers had been killed in a firing incident at Lahore sessions court premises.
Police had said that the incident of firing occurred after heated argument between lawyers over a property dispute.
As a result, Advocate Rana Nadeem had suffered fatal firearm wounds and died on the spot, whereas another lawyer Owais Talib, who also suffered bullet injuries, had died later at a hospital.
