PCB offers Basit Ali to coach Pakistan team for World T20: sources

According to sources, the PCB has offered the dashing opening batsman of his time an offer to coach Pakistan team for World T20.

If appointed, Ali will replace current batting coach Grant Flower.

However, Basit Ali hasn’t given a final answer to the cricket board. He will meet the PCB officials in Lahore and will reach a final decision after the meeting.

Ali has played 19 Test matches and 50 one-day international. The ex-cricketer will leave for Lahore tonight.

It’s pertinent to mention here that Ali has been very critical of Pakistan’s poor performance in the Asia Cup.

On May 15, 2014,the PCB had appointed former Zimbabwe opener Grant Flower as their batting coach in a comprehensive overhaul of the national team’s management in their bid to perform well World Cup 2015.
