PDM decides to put Imran Khan on ECL, sources

Islamabad: The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), in their meeting on Wednesday, decided to put PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s name on the Exit Control List (ECL), ARY News reported. 

According to sources, the Pakistan Democratic Movement, in their meeting on Wednesday, decided to take strict action against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief after the ECP’s verdict proving the party took prohibited funds from foreign nationals.

Sources have said that PDM leaders agreed to put PTI Chief Imran Khan’s name on the Exit Control List. Moreover, the unity government has decided to file an article 62,63 reference against the PTI head demanding his disqualification.

The final approval to put the former Premier’s name on the ECP would be given by the federal cabinet. The PDM leaders also agreed to legislate against protesting in the Red Zone in Islamabad.

PDM leaders include Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maryam Nawaz, Aftab Sherpao, Mehmood Khan Achakzai, Kishwar Zehra, Khurshed Shah, Faisal Karim Kundi and other attended the important PDM meeting.

However, PTI leaders such as Fawad Chaudhry and Farrukh Habib have responded to the possible listing of the PTI Chief to the ECL as a ‘blunder’. Imran Khan has not travelled abroad even once since his ouster, putting him in the ECL would be a blunder, said PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry.
