Unknown gunmen opened fire at the vehicle of the peace committee official named Ashraf due to which he was killed and his bodyguard Nadir Khan was injured.
Rescue teams arrived at the crime scene and shifted the body and the wounded to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police surrounded the area and launched a search operation for the arrest of the attackers.
