Six people dead in coach-truck collision in Baluchistan’s Uthal

HUB: At least six people were killed and over a dozen others injured when a passenger coach collided with a truck at Uthal in Lasbela district on Saturday.

Rescue sources said the deadly accident occurred near Zero Point in Uthal. The ill-fated bus was travelling from Quetta to Karachi when it crashed with a truck coming from the opposite direction.

The dead and injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital in Uthal.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the accident.

Separately, two people were killed and six others sustained injuries when a Mazda truck flipped over near Khanewal Bypass in Faisalabad.

The deceased and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.

Road accidents are common in Pakistan due to poor condition of vehicles, rash driving, underage driving, bad condition of roads, dim or no street lights and violation of traffic rules.
