Peshawar: A woman killed, 2 injured due to firing on PIA flight PK-756

PESHAWAR: A woman was killed while 2 others at PIA flight PK-756 were injured, as a result of firing on the plane, minutes earlier to landing at Peshawar Airport – ARY News reports.

According to details, PIA flight PK-756 was enroute to Peshawar from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, that bullets were fired on the plane from unknown direction.

As a result, a passenger woman was killed while 2 others including a crew member were injured, however the pilot, Tariq Chaudhry skillfully saved the plane and crash-landed on the airport. The injured were immediately shifted to the hospital, who are also reported to be in precarious condition.

ARY News correspondent, Salahuddin reported that the pilot saved the plane for the entire aircraft could have crashed after fire eruption, had a bullet penetrated into the engine.

Meanwhile, emergency has been imposed at the Peshawar Airport, fire tenders were called in and Air Marshalls have taken positions.

It was also told that the unknown attackers had fired bullets on the plane from a place closed to the airport or from a populated area nearby, with the help of long-range guns.

PIA spokesperson confirmed that 3 people were injured inside the plane, due to firing. Most of the passengers on-board were reported to be pilgrims, who were returning to the country after offering Umrah.

Moreover, Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials have been inspecting the aircraft and a search operation has also been initiated in the vicinity.
