Petition filed in LHC seeks treason case against Imran, Qureshi

Justice Aalia Neelum heard the case in LHC on Monday (today). The petition said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are frequently issuing statements against the judiciary which is sparking a situation of anarchy in the country. The two PTI leaders have also refused to accept the judicial commission formed to investigate Model Town Incident, the plea further said.

The petitioner called the statements of PTI leaders equal to treason. He added that a plea was filed in the lower court in this respect but it was rejected, therefore, LHC should give orders to file the case, the plea said.

The court issued notices to the parties and asked for answers within four weeks.
