Petition seeks change of Lahore High Court name

Former sessions judge Rasheed Mehboobi in his petition in the court of Justice Shahid Waheed pleaded to change the name of the high court after the province of Punjab.

The petitioner argued that the names of two high courts in the country, have been attributed to the respective provinces. He said the Lahore HIgh Court should also be named as Punjab High Court like Sindh and Balochistan high courts.

The bench summoned the Attorney General of Pakistan and Advocate General Punjab for legal assistance to the court over the matter.
