The petitioner in his plea said that no one is supposed to obstruct the Senate elections in any case.
The petition said that President Mamnoon Hussain upon the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif issued an ordinance which led to the suspension of the Senate polls on Fata seats, which is clearly unconstitutional.
Under the constitution, the president has no authority to issue such ordinances, the plea said.
The petitioner pleaded with the ECP to initiate the proceedings to disqualify the premier and the president for violating the constitution.
