LAHORE: A petition in Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court on Wednesday sought suspension of the Panama Papers case hearing in the apex court till the Parliament and the revenue board take decisions on the matter, ARY News reported.
Petitioner Barrister Zafarullah has pleaded to the court that the Parliament has initiated proceedings over the Panama Papers issue and the Board of Revenue has also issued notices to the people named in the offshore companies scam.
The petitioner has pleaded to the apex court to stop the hearing and allow the Parliament and the Board of Revenue to take action over the Panama Leaks issue.
The petitioner also said that the old law of the inquiry commission has passed its time so as a commission could not be formed under that law.
The petitioner has requested to the court to suspend its proceedings till decisions of the parliament and the revenue board over the issue announced.
