PIA employees with MBA degrees to get promotion: sources

KARACHI: The management of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to promote its employees, holding an MBA degree, to a higher grade, ARY News reported Thursday.

The PIA staffers possessing MBA degrees have been told to contact their respective station managers to proceed with the requirements for the promotion.

While station managers have been directed to forward the data of relevant employees to the HR units concerned.

It has also been decided that the assessment test would be conducted of employees with MBA degrees. Sources said the test would be held through an Institute of Business Management.

Later, a board of PIA will hold interviews of successful candidates before promoting them to the next grade.

Meanwhile, a report regarding fake degrees of pilots and cabin crew members of Pakistan International Airlines as presented before the Senate Standing Committee on Aviation on Wednesday.

The government members insisted on a strict action against those holding degrees, however, the opposition didn’t back the government call, sources said.’

Chairman of the committee, Mushahidullah Khan, expressed dissatisfaction on the report and said unnecessary delay was witnessed in action against the fake degree holders.

“It is beyond comprehension that charge-sheet in the case was issued four years later after issuance of show-cause notices,” he said.
