PIA delaying forensic audit despite court's order

It seems that officials responsible for the downfall of national airline want to escape away without any punishment of their corruption and despite of court’s order delaying the forensic audit.PIA management didn’t hired an independent chartered accountant firm to conduct the audit, although the process has been initiated process in January last year.

According to sources, the board of directors of PIA has asked the management to implement the court’s order.

Statistics revealed that PIA’s deficit volume stood at Rs. 191 billion till March 2014. Keeping in view the huge deficit, PIA issued tender seeking services from audit firm to find out its causes.

Later, three firms had been short-listed for the audit but the matter has been pending since then.
