An elderly man with gray beard was seen in the courtroom when the Accountability judge announced the verdict. He was seen moving his lips perhaps reciting some holy words.

The man was also seen when Zardari’s counsel Farooq H. Naek was talking with media.

The man is said to be Pir Ejaz Shah, the spiritual adviser of former president Asif Ali Zardari, who also stayed with the president at the Presidency during his tenure and advised him at scores of the matter of national importance.

According to ARY News, Pir Ejaz Shah had advised the president during his incumbency to stay away from mountains and live near the sea. The advice said to be the reason of the former president’s staying in Karachi most of time–away from the federal capital Islamabad, which is nearing mountains.

The pir, who remained by the side of Mr Zardari during his political ups and downs and even in his five-year stay in the presidency in a media interview had claimed that “My meditation freed Mr Zardari from the bad spell he was under and in 2006 I called him from Madina to tell him that his case has been thrown into a blind well.”

He had also claimed in media talk that he had told Zardari that he could use his magical powers to help Zardari stay in the Presidency for more time, but he had refused his offer.

He said that he had been with Zardari since a long time and would stay with him wherever he would go.

To a questioner, he had told he met Asif Ali Zardari for the first time in Attock in 2002 and had predicted then that he would soon be “promoted” and would stay in the country’s “biggest house”.
