Nation to stand by Kashmiri people in right of self-determination struggle: PM

MUZAFFARABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said the entire Pakistani nation stands by the Kashmiri people in their decades-old struggle for right to self determination.

Addressing the joint session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) assembly and Kashmir council here, the premier called upon the parliamentarians to forge unity on the issue by keeping all political and personal differences aside.

He said Pakistan will continue to extend its moral, political and diplomatic support to the people of Kashmir.

PM Abbasi said there is no second opinion on Pakistan’s Kashmir policy and the entire leadership from the civil to military officials are on the same page over the dispute.

“Pakistan will continue to strive for peaceful resolution of the lingering dispute,” he maintained.

On the occasion, he said the Indian government has deployed all tactics to suppress the freedom struggle in Kashmir but remained failed to quash it. “We feel the pain of our brothers in Kashmir taking part in a struggle against occupiers,” he added.

Moreover, he urged the AJK government to play its vital role in raising the issue at international forums through good governance in the territory.
