ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has barred party workers from going to the Supreme Court on Thursday when the court announces the eagerly awaited verdict on the Panama Papers case.
The prime minister advised his party workers that anyone who has nothing to do with the the case should not go to the apex court building.
The verdict of the case heard by a five-member bench was reserved on February 23 will finally be delivered today, April 20 at 2 PM.
On the other hand, Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali khan has directed Islamabad administration to ensure foolproof security of the Supreme Court and the adjoining areas by Rangers on Thursday.
In a statement, the interior minister said that only those persons will be allowed to enter the Supreme Court premises who have passes or security cards issued by the Registrar of Supreme Court.
He also directed Rangers to assist police in ensuring fool proof security of the Supreme Court.
A high alert has also been issued across Punjab to avoid any untoward incident. Security has been tightened across sensitive installations, government buildings, political parties’ offices, public places, media houses and other prominent locations across the province.
The display of weapons and aerial weapons has also been banned across the province. Police has been strengthened across Rawalpindi and will be deployed on Murree Road.
