PM inaugurates Nashpa Oil & Gas Processing and LPG Recovery Plant in Karak

KARAK: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday said the government has introduced drastic reforms in oil and gas sector, enhancing LPG production from 1000 to 1800 tones daily.

He said this while addressing a function after inaugurating Nashpa Oil and Gas Processing and LPG Recovery Plant in Karak.

The prime minister said increase in LPG production was saving Rs10 billion annually.

He said the plant would minimize the import of petrochemical products from abroad.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said Nashpa Oil and Gas Processing was pending since 2009 and the credit goes to the present government for its completion.

“The plant has been completed at a cost of Rs20 billion and would minimize the import of petrochemical products from abroad. It will also generate a revenue of Rs60 billion rupees annually,” he said.

The prime minister said the Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) was producing 43,000 barrel oil and 1100 billion cubic feet gas a day which was a record.

He said the government had started work on construction of 1700 kilometer motorways across the country out of which maximum projects were in the final stages.

The premier announced construction of Women Campus of Karak university, a model school and two roads in the areas besides completion of electricity supply schemes.

Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra also spoke on the occasion.
