PM Khan summons session of federal cabinet on Thursday

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has called a meeting of the federal cabinet on Thursday to review the economic, political and security situation of the country.

According to details, the cabinet members will be taken into confidence on the new program of International Monetary Fund (IMF) and details of talks with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) delegation.

Following the arrest of PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif, the session would also mull over the mechanism of recovering illegal assets from the owners and the performance of National Accountability Bureau will also be evaluated. Further, the cabinet will be taken on-board for continuing nonstop accountability process, as per the sources.

The launch of PM’s five million houses scheme will be accorded approval during the meeting and the Premier will be given briefing on the progress of 100-day agenda of the government, sources said.

Instructions on ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ campaign will also be given to the cabinet members

A day earlier, Prime Minister Khan launched the countrywide ‘Clean and Green Pakistan’ campaign and urged people from all social strata to make it a success by actively participating in it.

Emphasizing that the government alone cannot bring about change, Mr Khan urged members of the civil society to complement efforts of the government by creating necessary awareness about sanitation and environmental issues.

The prime minister said there will be contests regarding sanitation at tehsil level every two months and the official concerned would be rewarded or penalized on the basis of state of cleanliness in their areas.
