PM Nawaz inspects relief works in flood-hit Jalalpur Bhattian

The prime minister visited different areas of Jalapur Bhattian and observed the destruction caused due to flood. The Federal Information Minister, Pervez Rasheed and the Chief Secretary Punjab, Saira Afzal Tarar were also accompanied the premier on this occasion.

Addressing the flood-affectees, the prime minister said that a flood with such a intensity was not predicted, while unanticipated heavy rains also added to the plights, making the situation worse.

He directed the authorities for making arrangements to shift the cattle to safer places and to immediately provide boats where needed.

PM Nawaz vowed that the government despite of its limited resources, will leave no stone unturned regarding the rehabilitation of the flood-victims. He said a survey to record the losses has already been conducted, after which the government will compensate the affectees.

The prime minister said it is our duty to help out the people in this difficult time and there is no favor being done to them.

He also urged for the need of concrete measures to be taken in order to avoid such disasters in future.
