ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in their separate messages on Monday have said the government is taking measures for the welfare and enhancing living standards of workers and their families.
In their messages on Labour Day, they said that workforce is an extremely important pillar of society and playing a pivotal role in its socio-economic development.
The president said that the day symbolizes the strength and character of the Pakistani workforce and its devotion and commitment towards making the country prosperous and developed.
Meanwhile, the premier has said goals of fast and inclusive growth leading to a modern and industrialized economy can only be achieved through a committed, hardworking and skilled workforce.
Moreover, the premier said only a prosperous and happy workforce can enable Pakistan in realizing its full potential and compete in today’s highly competitive globalized market economy.
World Labour Day is being observed in Pakistan like all over the world with the renewed pledge to acknowledge and promote the dignity of labourers.
