The CJP ordered presenting the petitions in the apex court for hearing, ARY News reported.

The PTI and JI had filed separate petitions in the apex court seeking disqualification of Nawaz Sharif as prime minister of the country following the Panama Leaks disclosures.

Registrar office of the court had declared the petitions as non-maintainable.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali, heard the arguments of both parties against the Registrar office objections in his chamber on Tuesday.

The counsels of the petitioners, in their arguments, stated that the alleged corruption of the prime minister falls under Article 184-3 of the constitution and only Supreme Court of Pakistan have jurisdiction to hear the case. The lawyers argued that it is upto the court to decide if the case can be heard or not.
