ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will address the nation tonight, ARY News reported on Saturday.
Sources privy to the matter told ARY News that the prime minister would address the nation tonight at 9:15 pm where he would take them into confidence regarding the economic situation of the country.
The premier is likely to announce a reduction in prices of petroleum products, say sources.
Earlier, it emerged that the prices of local petroleum products are likely to decrease by up to Rs15 per litre.
The petrol price is likely to decrease by Rs12 per litre and that of diesel by Rs15, say sources.
It is pertinent to mention here that the federal government is planning to regulate the petrol prices in the country on a weekly basis.
While talking to the media after a meeting of the senate standing committee on finance on Thursday, State Minister for Finance and Revenue, Dr. Aisha Ghous Pasha said that a decision in this regard will be taken soon after which consumers will pay for oil in line with prices in the international market.
