GUJRAT: PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz, daughter of ousted premier Nawaz Sharif, on Sunday said the public courts have been giving their decisions in favour of Sharif as swiftly as the courts had been making vengeful rulings.

Addressing a public gathering at Kotla Stadium here, the former premier’s daughter congratulated the PML-N supporters for the party emerged triumphant in the recent Senate elections.

Deploring the court proceedings, she said first Sharif was removed as Prime Minister, then he was desisted from party presidency and finally the party was deprived of its symbol before the Senate polls.

“Despite all this, the party emerged victorious in the Senate elections as the party detractors have also conceded their defeat,” Maryam thundered.

Alluding to Imran Khan, the ruling party leader said the opponents didn’t go to the parliament to cast vote to his party candidate.

She reiterated that her father was disqualified for merely possessing a foreign work-permit (Iqama).

Maryam criticised the judiciary for calling Nawaz Sharif a “thief” and comparing the leader and his party with criminal syndicates like Sicilian Mafia.

On the occasion, she raised the party slogans “respect for the vote”.
