ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf spokesman Fawad Chaudhry on Thursday questioned the eligibility of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and called on the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz to nominate a new prime minister.

The spokesman while speaking to media outside the premises of the Supreme Court which resumed hearing the Panamagate Case, called on the PML-N legislators to witness the proceedings and made a decision for themselves rather than making baseless arguments.

“In ten days, everything will be crystal clear,” he said. “The proof is already out and now the decision will also be out soon.”

He questioned whether the prime minister was still eligible to run the state of affairs of the country. “It’s time the PML-N selects a new prime minister.”

He said that the Sharif family does not even have documentary evidence of business dealings from 2006, and gave a bizarre argument that Ishaq Dar was coerced in 2001 to reveal ownership of their foreign properties which they claim to have acquired in 2006.

Fawad Chaudhry said that the documents submitted in the Supreme Court implies that Hussain Nawaz, the elder son on prime minister Nawaz Sharif, is not the beneficial owner of the foreign properties.

He said the presiding judge had asked Salman Akram Raja, the counsel for the prime minister, to submit documentary evidence that Hussain Nawaz was the beneficial owner of the offshore companies and the registered shares were transferred to him in 2006.

However, it has been ascertained the Maryam Nawaz, not Hussain Nawaz, is the beneficial owner of the foreign properties.

“The documents submitted today proves that Hussain Nawaz has no connection to these properties,: he said. “Also Minerva company, named after a Greek deity, is the beneficial owner of Nielson and Nescol companies, and is owned by Maryam Nawaz.”

He said that all three counsels of the Sharif family have given contradictory statements without any solid evidence, and it is not long before a decision will be reached on the issue.
