KARACHI: Following a meeting with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leadership, former Sindh governor Muhammed Zubair on Monday demanded from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to fully cooperate with the Karachi-based party and resolve their grievances, ARY News reported.

“We are in contact with all the parties on the prevailing situation of mistrust on the election results. The issues have been encountered all over the country and including in urban areas of Sindh,” the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said while talking to journalists in Karachi. He was flanked by MQM-P leaders, Faisal Sabzwari, Farooq Sattar and Amir Khan.

The MQM alleged that it was the first time that the ECP was involved in election rigging.

Faisal Sabzwari said Farooq Sattar had expressed the same reservations in the All Parties Conference that had been expressed by the MQM-P a day earlier.

Mocking at PTI leader Aamir Liaquat Hussain’s victory, he said in Farooq Sattar’s constituency, NA-245, a non-serious candidate won whom his own party would not give votes.

Demanding from the chief election commissioner to resign, Sabzwari said it was the ECP’s failure that their Results Transmission System (RTS) did not work.

“It was responsibility of the presiding officers to hand over Form 45 to polling agents of political parties,” he said.

He also demanded audit of Rs21 billion allotted for elections.
