ISLAMABAD: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Zafar Ali Shah on Thursday announced to leave his party and join Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), ARY News reported.
Flanked by PTI chief Imran Khan and PTI’s senior leadership, Zafar Ali Shah announced to leave PML-N because “Pakistan needs a leader like Imran Khan”.
He also termed the PML-N intra-party elections as bogus that made Shahbaz Sharif the party head.
Zafar Ali Shah, who was about to contest polls from NA-53 constituency of the federal capital, also announced to withdraw in favour of Imran Khan.
Imran Khan hailed his decision and termed him a true politician for “speaking against Sharifs’ wrong policies, when the rest of PML-N was defending then PM”.
He also urged Shah to show similar conduct while working for PTI.
