ISLAMABAD: Spokesperson of Prime Minister Dr Musadik Malik on Thursday leveled a range of allegations on investigation of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the money trail of the Sharif family in Panama Leaks case, ARY News reported.

He questioned if the JIT has so far examined the evidences provided by  the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the form of documents. If it has not scrutinised them yet then why not?

“The creation of environment of intimidation and that people were through force and threat tried to get affidavit in favor of the PM retrieved …. Is this the justice we had been waiting for or for what we distributed sweets?” he questioned while addressing a press briefing at Press Information Department in Islamabad.

He blamed the JIT for forcing people to become approver in the case, tapping telephone calls of the Sharif family and leaking the PM’s son’s picture.

Musadik Malik said the cabinet had empowered the JIT with mutual legal assistance which meant the probing team could ask any country to provide any documents.

The power was entrusted upon the JIT to hold investigation freely and fairly, however the JIT did not bother to go to Qatar for further probe.

“We believe that JIT has already made up its mind and they want to frame the PM,” said the special assistant to PM for water and power.
