KARACHI: Police arrested over 70 suspects during raids at different places of the city in the wee hours of Friday morning, ARY News reported.
Police also recovered heavy cache of arms and ammunition as well as narcotics during the raids.
The arrested suspects were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Police has claimed to arrest scores of miscreants during combing operation in Manghopir area of Karachi.
Moreover, 25 drug-peddlers were arrested in Golimar during a raid by police. Stolen motorcycles, drugs, and weapons were recovered during the raid.
Rizvia police also arrested four suspects and recovered weapons and drugs from their possession.
Furthermore, police has also claimed to arrest an alleged woman drug-peddler in Baloch Colony who confessed of importing drugs from Peshawar and selling in the city.
Unknown gunmen shot dead a doctor in Kharadar area of Karachi’s old town. The police officials have said that according to initial investigation the incident apparently seemed to be of target killing.
Separately, the law enforcement agencies gunned down an alleged terrorist in Dera Ghazi Khan’s Choti Zareen area during a raid.
In Bhakkar district of southern Punjab police claimed to have arrested four proclaimed offenders during a house to house operation.
